East China Normal University is known as the premier teacher training university in China, and its affiliated high school has a long-established reputation for its progressive approach to the development of teaching and learning.

Having been named one of the top 10 schools nationally for science education innovation, Huaer is well-known for its outstanding performances in regional, national and international science contests, achieving 27 gold medals in International Science Olympiads and more than 20 awards at Intel International Science and Engineering Fairs – the highest totals of any school in China.
