Whole Child Education
We achieve our mission by educating the whole child along a progressive continuum that starts in Preschool at age two, adds boarding in Grade 6, and culminates in Upper School at Grade 12.

Academic Program
Our academic program is integrated across all of our divisions and is adapted appropriately to cater to scholars’ differing ages and changing educational needs. Common across all divisions and age groups is our ongoing adherence to:

Sino-American Integrated Curriculum
Huayao Collegiate teaches a blended Chinese and American curriculum that combines a drive for academic excellence within a whole child education framework designed to nurture healthy, globally aware young adults.

iSTEAM-PBL
We reinforce and advance the study of subject content through an interdisciplinary, STEAM curriculum, using Project Based Learning strategies (iSTEAM-PBL). This instructional method uses thematic experiential discovery lessons to foster scholar-centered, applied inquiry learning.

Dual Language Immersion (DLI)
As soon as scholars start in preschool we encourage age-appropriate use of both Chinese and English in order to develop and continually strengthen scholars’ language acquisition and retention.

Flexible Grouping
A flexible group will include different scholars at different times for different reasons. Groups are flexible because they change as each scholar’s data shows growth or progression beyond a curricular section or set of skills.

International Educators
Approximately 50% of our experienced, professionally trained and credentialed educators are English speakers from the US or other countries.

Personalized Learning Plans (PLP)
Scholars from Elementary School and upwards each have a PLP to truly personalize learning and raise achievement academically.
Academic and Student Life Combined
We believe scholars’ emotional and academic wellbeing empowers them to achieve ultimate success in life. Therefore, our educational process combines two major, complementary programs: the academic program and the student life program.
